I have been extremely slack lately with my blogging. My life just turned really crazy and I have not even thought about blogging. So here is what I have been up to lately.
I have taken over the Fall Festival at my church this year. Usually they start getting everything together in July and I didn’t start planning until the beginning of September. But I am so excited about it. It is a Fall Carnival this year and I have to say that I think it is going to be pretty superb!
There will be games and booths, a dunking booth, a hayride, cotton candy and popcorn machines, live music, a bounce house, a cake walk, hotdogs, a fire truck and lots more. It has been a lot of work, but I love every minute of it. David complains that it has taken over my life, but it will be over soon.
David and I are planning a little weekend getaway in two weeks. I have that Monday off for Columbus Day so we are going to leave Saturday morning and head up to the Biltmore house and either stay two nights in Ashville or Hendersonville. So I’m pretty excited about that too!
Two weeks ago I was driving to work minding my own business and this deer decides to ram himself into the side of my car. I did not see the deer until I heard a loud bang and looked in my mirror and saw it running across the road. I got out and looked at my car and looked at the side passenger door and it was dented and paint chipped off, but I thought hey not too too big of a deal. Well later on that day when my mom was looking at it she was like, Laura did you not see the huge dent up her and notice that the passenger door will not open. So I have NO clue how the deer hit, but pretty much the whole side of my car is messed up and I cannot open the passenger door. Stupid deer!!!!
Other then that, not much is new. I promise I will try to blog a little more!

these are a few of my favorite things…

In life it always seems like the littlest things always make me smile. So why not share some of my favorite things with my bloggers!
Seeing rainbows after the rain, fall leaves on the road and driving through them, hearing david tell me he loves me, turning on the radio and hearing Kenny Chesney, birthday cake ice cream in a waffle cone, singing amazing grace in church, eating sprees and nerds, riding the chair lift at the fair while eating a corndog, getting into my car after just vacuuming it, the smell of coconut lotion, hot lemon green tea, singing sweet caroline, hearing makaylee say wawee, getting cards in the mail, seeing brandi tilt her head at me when I call her name, thinking of college memories, blankets, hearing marriage proposals, daisies, hearing the whistle at the beginning of an Andy Griffin episode, eating nacho and cheese, seeing people get baptized, baby hands and feet, new chapstick, Christmas decorations and of course my family and friends:)
What are some of your favorite things?

we got a SITUATION
Posted by laura at 8/14/2010 04:10:00 PM

Jersey Shore = most hilarious show on TV. I have to admit I did not
watch the Jersey Shore last year when it came on. David did, but I was
like no, I have too many shows already and I don't need another show.
But when David and I went to the beach in May they had a Jersey Shore
marathon and I caught up and I am addicted now. It is just so funny.
I would have to say Pauly D is probably my favorite, but I love JWoww,
Snooki and The Situation too. I even taught Makaylee to say, "We got a
situation" and she just goes around saying it and it is too too cute. I
don't like Ronnie, Angelina and I don't care for Sammi either. I cannot
stand the whole Ronnie and Sam drama. Vinny is alright.
I don't know if the show is that hilarious or if it is just because Dave
and I watch it together and pause it like a million times and discuss
what just happen and rewind it back to the funny parts. But last night
episode was hilarious. In the hot tub with the grenades and the boobs
floating, Snookie and Vinny on the bean bag together, and why was Vinny
laughing in his sleep?? The MVP outing and leaving Angelina. And the
fight between Angelina and Pauly D, that girl is crazzzy.
I just love the show. It is hilarious and just makes you appreciate your
normal, non-eventful life.
My Obsession, Kenny Chesney
Posted by laura at 8/10/2010 09:48:00 AM
Back in 1999, Nicole Rabon (now Nicole Silvia) asked Mary (my sister), Maegen (my bff) and me to go to a Kenny Chesney concert with her. Kenny was rather new at that time and I didn’t think I knew that many of his songs, but the seats were on like the 8th roll and I believe the tickets were around $15, so I was like what the heck, sure I’ll go. I still remember the outfit I wore. Gray dress pants with cargo side pockets, a black see-thru lacy long-sleeve top with a black spaghetti strap shirt underneath and round toe thick heel zip up black boots…just AWFUL. And my hair, it was really short and curly so if I would have stood beside a picture of little orphanage Annie, well lets just say we would have made a striking resembles. Anyways we go to the concert and after Phil Vassar opened up, we were ready for Kenny to come out. And he came out and so did my obsession. I remember standing and singing his songs and were shocked that I knew so many. As I was singing I kept saying, he is cute, like really cute. I was never the same after that night.
Since then I have been to seven more Kenny concerts and always have had a wonderful time at each one of them. From going up to the stage and holding onto Kenny’s shoe, standing outside for two hours waiting for him to come out of his tour bus and shaking his hand and screaming in his face. From holding up, Lay Us Down Kenny, posters, while he sang Conway Twitty’s, “Lay You Down” song, from getting beer pulled all over brit and mine heads. Painting, We love Kenny and We think Kenny’s tractor is sexy, on Nicole’s car before a concert. And the saddest, watching Kenny’s foot get caught in the stage and ending up breaking his foot.
I have saved every magazine cover Kenny has ever been on, saved all of my concert tickets, have t-shirts that I have wore so much that they have holes all in them, but they will NEVER be thrown away. I have Kenny road signs, pillows, bags, and posters. Of course I have every one of his cds and listen to them religiously. I know every word and every line in all of his songs. I know pretty much everything about him. I am so obsess with this man it’s not funny. And I love my husband even more because he accepts my obsession with no problem.
I don’t know what it is with this guy, but I am and will always be Kenny Chesney’s #1 fan. I just love KENNY CHESNEY.

Pet-Peeves ughhh
Posted by laura at 8/05/2010 01:18:00 PM
Pet-peeves…everyone has them, right? Sometimes I think everything people do is one of my pet-peeves, I just have so many. And when I go to Wal-Mart I believe people do every one of my pet-peeves.
I believe my #1 pet-peeve is, Rude Abrupt Stoppers (RAS). That is when you are walking in a store and the person in front of you just stops, dead in their tracks, like HELLO I’m behind you and now you made me slam on my brakes and stop because you are so rude that you can’t step to the side. OMG, this makes me so made I could spit. To all the RAS out there how about next time you decide to stop dead in your tracks, how about stepping to the side and letting the people behind you continue walking. Thank you.
**And by the way I had a RASS the other day, a Rude Abrupt Scooter Stopper. An overweight man was driving the little scooter things in Wal-Mart and stopped in front of me. You know what I did? Ran into the back of his scooter with my buggy and went right around him without even saying sorry, dumb RASS**
Next one is when people push all their fat into pants that are three sizes too small. Yes, I can understand when you gain some weight, it is hard to go up to that next size and you have to give up your favorite pair of jeans, but I don’t understand why you want your fat hanging out over the top of your jeans making you have a muffin top. Seriously, no one finds anything attractive by you wearing those jeans. And if you are one of these tight jean wearers, at least wear an oversized t-shirt so we cannot see your muffin top. Please do wear a tight short shirt where it leaves nothing to the imagination. SICK!
BLINKERS…I don’t mind when people use their blinkers, they should use there blinkers, but if you use it, then don’t forget to turn off your blinkers. Nothing bothers me more while I’m driving then someone who drives fifteen minutes with their blinker just a blinking. OMG can you not hear your blinker ticking? I mean I can kind of understand if it is a teenager because I know they have their radio blaring and they cannot hear the ticking, but most of the time it is old fogeys. And I know they don’t have their radio blaring, but I guess they probably don’t have their hearing aids turned far enough up to hear the little ticking. But anyways no excuse, TURN OFF YOUR BLINKERS.

Celebrity Gossip...My Life
Posted by laura at 8/02/2010 02:28:00 PM
As y’all all know, I looove celebrity gossip. I live for celebrity gossip. When I get to work in the mornings, my routine is; open the vault, open the night drop box, turn on my computer, open the internet and pull up US Weekly. There is not a day that goes by, that I’m not reading up on celebrities and their lives. I mean their lives are not that different from ours so what makes them so fascinating? And why do I get so obsessed and attached to certain celebrities? If someone says something bad about one of my favorite celebrities, it’s like they just killed my dog or something and it makes me like that person a little less. What is it with me and celebrities?
Well these are my thoughts and some opinions on some of the most popular celebrities…

Anyone that turns on E!, opens a magazine or even pulls up Yahoo, they are going to see something about Lindsey Lohan. How many people are sick and tired of hearing and seeing Lindsey Lohan? I know I am. Yeah, I liked her in Parent Trap and I will even give you Freaky Friday, but now, can we say ewww. She’s awful. Whenever you open a magazine she is either; doing drugs, doing a girl, flashing her girl girl (what Makaylee calls it) or getting into a fight with her wonderful father. I’m sick and tired of hearing about LINDSEY LOHAN!

Recently Ali Fedotowsky has been in the headlines. She is the recent bachelorette and I love herrr. I liked her on The Bachelor, and I’m so glad she didn’t end up with that idiot, but I love her even more now. Tonight she will pick between Roberto and Chris. I have to say I really like both of them equally, but I think I want her to pick Chris. I feel like they would last over her and Roberto lasting. But Ali is so cute and I love her style so I wouldn’t mind keeping her in the headlines even after The Bachelorette.

Anything that has to do with the Kardashians, I’m there. I love this family. Out of the three girls, I would have to say, Kourtney is probably my favorite. Even though she has an awful baby daddy, I think she is so funny with her sarcasms. Anyways I am definitely a Kardashian fan!

Another celebrity that drives me crazy is, Jessica Simpson. From dumping Nick, starting a “media war” with Carrie Underwood, to her dumb show, and her family I cannot stand her. She just bothers me ughhh—why exactly is she famous.. Yeah, she has cute shoes and pocketbooks, but still she’s stupid.

My top most hated celebrities would have to be Spencer and Heidi Pratt. OMG—I cannot stand them. I cannot stand the links they go too to stay in the media and how all Heidi’s plastic surgery has made her look like a horse. I cannot stand how they think that they are normal and everyone else is crazy.

But I do love Heidi’s cd, it is awesome. I listen to it all the time and of course when I go to the beach I run around in my pink bikini and run through the seagulls singing higher, higher, higher :)

Lauren Conrad = my most favorite celebrity. I love LC! This is the one celebrity I think I would have to end a friendship over Lauren if one of my friends didn’t like. I started watching Lauren on Laguna Beach and then of course on The Hills. I love her clothes and I loved her first book- haven’t read the second one yet. I love how she handles herself and her fame. I feel like Lauren and I would be best friends if we met. I just love LAUREN CONRAD. Ok did that not just sound like a crazy stalker, but I promise if I lived in LA, Lauren would have another stalker on her hands, haha.
Tell me about y’alls favorite celebrities, and no one better say anything bad about my!!

I'm sorry, Do I know you???

Last week I needed the oil changed in my car so Friday morning I woke up and decided I would go into town a little earlier and get the oil changed and then head into work. I get to Randy’s (the oil place) and park my car and go into the lobby to take a seat and I planned to read my book while I waited. Well little did I know that I was about to have a ten minute conversation with a complete stranger.
You know when you walk into a place where people are seated and waiting, you look for a seat that is the furthest away from everyone else. Well I walk in and there is a lady and a man sitting waiting and then a boy playing with blocks on the floor. I sit in a chair in the middle of the two, but with about 2 chairs between both of them. I sit down, pull out my book and it started.
“I have family from Michigan coming in this week and I have to get ready for them.”
When I hear the lady beside me say this I look around to see who she is talking too and when I turned my head and looked at her, I realized it was me she was talking to. I look at her to see if I know her and I realize that I have no clue who the lady is. After about 30 seconds of me sitting there not saying anything, I respond, “Oh really, that sounds like fun.” And then I turn back and look down at my book to try to read, hoping the lady gets the hint that I was not interested in striking up a conversation with her.
Well the hint was not gotten. She continued to talk to me about her family from Michigan and how they were bringing their two big dogs, named Lance and Master (dumb names) and how they were inside dogs, but they were not staying inside her house and tearing up everything. After the family conversation, she quickly moved on to tell me how her husband is in the army and he might be going back to Iraq and how he was gone for most of her son’s childhood. But her dad was in the army so she’s used to this lifestyle.
Then she moves unto how her kids going to Doby's Mill Elementary, which is where Mary works. So after telling her that Mary works there, she goes on to say, I know her, I know her, she works at Doby's Mill, I know her—she got a little too excited that she knew my sister. Then she continues to tell me all the teachers/staff that Doby’s let go, due too the price cuts. Which lead to the how much she hated Obama and how bad of a man he is.
Finally, Sandy (the lady that works at the oil place) walks in and I think to myself thank God, please let my car or her car be ready. Sandy calls up the lady to the counter. What does she say when she gets up to the counter to pay?? “I have family from Michigan coming in this week and I have to get ready for them.”
I just start shaking my head because I’m like OMG here we go again. While she is talking to Sandy her son is picking up the blocks from the floor and putting them back into the toy box that they have in the lobby. Well she keeps saying “Son, we have to go, pick up your toys. Son, we have to go, pick up your toys.” Well the boy already had the toys picked up and had already walked out the door and went outside. And she continued to say “Son, we have to go, pick up your toys,” having no clue that her son was already gone and had already picked up the toys. Finally the lady finishes paying and talking to Sandy about her family coming into town and she turns around and sees that her son is gone. She grabs her pocketbook and then drops her keys and walks off. Of course I had to go pick up the keys and I caught up with her and I say, “maim you dropped your keys” and she turns around and says “Oh I guess I can’t go anywhere without those” and then she says “We have to go, family is coming in” and walks off and I just turn around shaking my head, smiling.
